Sofia Klass for Dances Made to Order

A Los Angeles native and graduate of UCLA’s Dance/ World Arts and Cultures program, Sofia Klass has performed for Invertigo Dance Theatre since 2008 and became the company manager in 2009. Her passion for travel has led her to dance/choreograph in many places through out the world. During her time in Chile she was fortunate to teach as a guest professor in choreography for fall semester at the Universidad Mayor. Sofia’s most recent choreography, “Falling for Feathers” was commissioned for the Invertigo performance Fun in Limbo May 2011. The piece observes the similarities between the dating and mating patterns of birds and humans. Sofia’s work is often inspired by nature and the relationship that we as humans have to it. She works from a theatrical standpoint creating drama or even humour within a dance context. Sofia teaches dance classes for people with Parkinson’s disease through Invertigo’s Dancing through Parkinson’s Program. Outside of Invertigo she teaches Pilates and Yoga sessions at a private space in Santa Monica. Her website is:
